3 Day Lingerie Course

An intensive 3 day course,  where you will learn about fabrics suitable to make lingerie and learn how to make a variety of suitable seams and hems used for these different fabrics. You will discover how to apply lingerie laces and lace edgings, lace insertions, lace applique and discover how to make shoe string straps. You will make a wide variety of samples on the day to use for reference when making your own lingerie. You will be able to use your new found skills to add lace to dresses, skirts and general dressmaking projects which is very fashionable right now.

This course is suitable for beginners who can use a sewing machine and sew an accurate seam and for more experienced dressmakers wishing to learn how to make specialist lingerie.

On this 3 day course you will learn all you need to know to make beautiful lingerie:

Day 1: Making a bra is not as difficult as you might imagine. If you can stitch neat accurate seams you are half way there. During this course you will learn how to stitch using stretch materials such as power net; how to apply elastic and lace edging, making bra cups, making bra straps with rings and sliders, how to insert underwires. You will make a complete sample bra. You will leave with your finished sample bra to use as a reference for future projects when you make bras in different sizes. You will be given tips of patterns to purchase to make bras in specific sizes.

Day 2:  Have you ever thought about making your own knickers? Come along to this course and you will learn how to make knickers. You will learn how to apply lingerie elastics onto lingerie fabrics and laces and discover how quick and easy it is to make you own. You will leave with the pair of knickers you have made and the knowledge to make lots more.

Suspender Belts are the finishing touch to your sexy lingerie set. On day 2 of the  course your will  also learn how to make a suspender belt.  

Day 3: Camisole tops are a lovely addition to a matching set of lingerie and can be worn under sheer tops or as an extra layer in winter. Camisole tops are now extremely fashionable worn as outer garments. You will learn how to work with fabrics cut on the bias. How to stitch a variety of lace edgings and lace insertions in a variety of fabrics. On day 3 you will make a camisole top.
