Using an Overlocker – Basics

This course is suitable for you if you want to use an overlocker competently. It is also great workshop if you are thinking of buying an overlocker and want to find out about them first.

So many people have told me they don't get their overlockers out of the box because they are too afraid to use them. Now is the time to get rid of your gremlins and start using your overlocker. An overlocker is an invaluable machine and once you get used to one you won’t want to do without one. The workshop is designed to give you confidence to use your overlocker.

During this workshop you will learn:

· how to thread the overlocker

· how to easily change the thread colour

· use the overlocker with 3 and 4 threads – and why you need to

· how to adjust the tensions for perfect stitching

· differential feed

· how to stitch seams

· neatening seams

· how to stitch corners

· how to stitch curved edges

· changing the needles

If you would like to learn on your own overlocker you can bring it to the workshop (please note this is a basic overlocker course and does not include flat locking machines.. If you do not have an overlocker this is the ideal workshop to come to and try one out before you consider buying one. Please state if you have you own, and the make of your machine when you book. If you do not have an overlocker and want to use one of ours please state this when booking.
