Sewing for Absolute Beginners

This is an introductory workshop into using a sewing machine and learning the basics needed to start making your own sewing projects.  During the class you will not only learn how to use a sewing machine, you will also put your new skills together to make a tote bag.

You will learn how to: 

Set up and thread a sewing machine Recognise the different parts of the machine Change a sewing machine needle Wind the bobbin and set it in the machine Learn how to change stitch length Guide the fabric when sewing Sew seams accurately Learn how to sew neat corners Learn how to sew a basic hem

Finally you will put all of your new skills together and make a tote bag. When the class has finished you will have the confidence to use your sewing machine and you will have gained the knowledge to start making your own projects.

All equipment, and class materials and fabrics are supplied.

Tea/coffee  included.

Maximum number of 8 students, this allows for everyone to receive individual tuition.
